In 2021, the Indian dairy market was worth INR 13,174 billion. After the "Green Revolution," dairying became a subset of agriculture, gaining economic significance and ushering in the "White Revolution." It is the primary source of income for about 7 million rural families and plays a significant role in the economic growth of rural India by meeting the demands of urban India. Since 1998, India has been the world's leading producer and consumer of dairy products, with a steady increase in the supply of milk and milk products. The dairy sector in India is a tool for economic development, with profitable investment career opportunities. The Indian government has implemented a number of targeted at strengthening the dairy industry in the country.
