EVALUATION OF NUTRITIONAL AND CHAPATI MAKING QUALITY OF WHEAT VARIETIES
(MPKV, Rahuri, 2023) Jadhao Bharati Babusing; Kachare, D.P.
The present investigation aims at evaluating the physical parameters of wheat grains and nutritional evaluation of wheat flours and chapatis prepared from twelve varieties and quality parameters for chapati making. The evaluation of the physical parameters of wheat grains of twelve varieties indicated significant varietal differences in thousand grain weight, hectolitre weight, yellow berry incidence and grain hardness. Amongst twelve varieties, the three varieties viz. NIAW-3624, NIDW-1149 and Trimbak had highest thousand grain weight while NIDW-1149 and Trimbak had the highest hectolitre weight. The variety, Godavari had the lowest yellow berry incidence (3 %) and NIAW-34 had highest grain hardness.

STUDIES ON INDUCED BIOCHEMICAL DEFENSIVE SYSTEM ON APPLICATION OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES DEVELOPED FROM Annonasquamosa L. AGAINST FUSARIUM WILT IN CHICKPEA
(MPKV, Rahuri, 2023) Chinta Sravani; Bhalerao, B.M.
Chickpea is a widely consumed dietary legume contributing 18% of global pulse production. In India, chickpea accounts to almost 45% of total pulses and 75 per cent of the world’s chickpea production. Total area cultivated accounts to 31.03 million ha with production of 27.69 MT with 892 kg/ha productivity in 2021-22. Ongoing climatic changes imposed several abiotic and biotic stresses on yield and productivity of chickpea. Biotic stress includes fungal, bacterial, viral and nematode diseases. Among them, Fusariumoxysporum f. sp. ciceri (Foc) is a major soil borne pathogen which causes 10-100 per cent yield losses. So, to overcome this problem, attempts were made to identify the significance of utilizing silver nanoparticles to manage wilt pathogen of chickpea. The present investigation entitled “Studies on induced biochemical defensive system on application of silver nanoparticles developed from Annonasquamosa L. against Fusarium wilt in chickpea” was undertaken to evaluate the effect of silver nanoparticles for their antifungal activity, seedling growth, plant defense activity, plant growth and wilt disease control.

STUDIES ON SALINITY TOLERANCE IN SORGHUM ON THE BASIS OF BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS
(MPKV, Rahuri, 2022) Mohammad Faiz Ahmed; Kale, A.A.
In conclusion out of 50 genotypes analyzed RSV 1876 and RSV 2494 were found to be salt tolerant based on the germination, seedling growth study and biochemical parameters at different salt concentrations. The salt tolerance of the sorghum genotypes was governed by the osmolyte (proline and glycine betaine) accumulation and increase in antioxidant enzymes (CAT and SOD) activities which lowers the osmotic potential and oxidative damage respectively. The salt tolerant genotypes ideally have higher accumulation of osmolytes and antioxidant enzyme activities, higher relative leaf water content, chlorophyll content, chlorophyll stability and lower lipid peroxidation and membrane injury index under salt stress

SYNTHESIS OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES BY USING Annona squamosa L. SEED AND FRUIT PEEL EXTRACT AND THEIR ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY.
(MPKV, Rahuri, 2022) Suke Sushant Dasharath; Bhalerao, B.M.
The qualitative phytochemical analysis of seed aqueous extract revealed the presence of various secondary metabolites such as phenols, tannins, flavonoids, glycosides etc. while the peel aqueous extract indicated presence of alkaloids, phenols, saponins, flavonoids, and glycosides respectively. The peel aqueous extract showed higher total phenolic content (10.56mg/g) than the seed aqueous extract (9.75mg/g).

FATTY ACID PROFILING OF DIFFERENT OILSEED CROPS
(MPKV, Rahuri, 2022) Paliwal Jaya Jagannath; Lokhande, P.K.
The essential fatty acid ratio of omega-6/omega-3 of JL 776 was 7.94. The groundnut cultivar JL 1085 recorded the highest oleic acid per cent. Crude protein, iron and zinc content in defatted meal of three groundnut cultivars ranged between 21.20 to 25.00, 6.71 to 7.37 mg 100-1 and 3.08 to 4.21 mg 100-1, respectively

BIOCHEMICAL EVALUATION OF OAT (Avena sativa L.) FOR LODGING TOLERANCE.
(Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, 2021) Faltankar Ankush Ganpat; Damame, S.V.
The present investigation was carried to study effect of silicon on biochemical parameters in relation to lodging tolerance in forage oat genotypes. Initially, in pot culture experiment two each lodging and non lodging type oat cultivars were compared on the basis of biochemical parameters in relation to lodging tolerance. The guaiacol peroxidase activity, lignin, total polyphenols, crude protein, acid detergent fibre, neutral detergent fibre, ash, potassium and silica were higher in non lodging cultivars than lodging, whereas, malondialdehyde and in vitro dry matter digestibility were higher in lodging than non lodging type cultivars
