ThesisItem Open Access MULTI-TRAIT SELECTION INDICES IN GIR CROSSES(MPKV, Rahuri, 2023) Antre Gorakshanath Raosaheb; Mandakmale, S.D.The data on reproduction and production traits of Gir crosses maintained at RCDP on cattle, MPKV, Rahuri (Maharashtra) were collected and analyzed by leastsquares technique (Harvey,1990) to estimate the effect of period of birth/calving, season of birth/calving, peak milk yield, genetic group and sire. The correlations, heritability and selection indices among the various traits were also studied. The overall least-squares means of AFC in IH, PT, JG and F group were estimated as 1067.95 ± 13.23, 1023.25 ± 10.14, 968.46 ± 39.51 and 1148.53 ± 24.39 days, respectively. The overall least-squares means for first service period in IH, PT, JG and F were 172.94 ± 10.35, 198.38 ± 9.83, 136.64 ± 20.51 and 281.31 ± 58.10 days, respectively. The overall means for FCI were 452.08 ± 10.35, 477.52 ± 09.82, 415.67 ± 20.51 and 560.50 ± 58.07 days in IH, PT, JG and F, respectively.ThesisItem Open Access EFFECT OF MORINGA OLEIFERA LEAVES POWDER ON GROWTH PERFORMANCE AND IMMUNITY STATUS OF BROILERS(MPKV, Rahuri, 2023) Sathe Rushikesh Dilip; Adangale, S.B.The present experiment entitled, “Effect of Moringa oleifera Leaves Powder on Growth Performance and Immunity Status of Broilers” was conducted at Poultry Unit, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Science, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, Dist- Ahmednagar (M.S.). Major objective was to study the growth performance, feed intake and serum biological changes and immunity status against New Castle Disease of broilers by feeding Moringa oleifera leaves powder. M.The present experiment entitled, “Effect of Glucose oxidase on growth performance of broilers” was conducted at Poultry Unit, Veterinary Polyclinic & A.I. Centre, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Science, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, Maharashtra. Major objective was to study the growth and meat quality of broilers by feeding Glucose oxidase Powder (GOD). The feeding trial of six weeks in broiler chicks (n=160) was conducted which were subjected to 4 treatments and designated as treatment T0, T1, T2 and T3, respectively. All the broiler chicks were fed with starter ration up to 21 days and finisher ration from 22 to 42 days of age as per BIS (1992) specification. The chicks fed with basal diet in control group (T0), while chicks in treatment group T1, T2 and T3 were fed basal diet with Glucose oxidase powder @ 0.02, 0.03 and 0.04 % of feed, respectively. All the birds were given isocaloric and isonitrogenous diets throughout the experimental period.
