Practitioners should realize that many arrhythmias are potentially very dangerous. Arrhythmia can be divided into disturbances in impulse formation and impulse conduction which may result in bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrhythmias.ArticleItem Open Access A CASE OF DIPROSOPIA IN A BUFFALO CALF(1989) Mohan, B; Ramamurthi, R; Ravi, R; Nanjappan, K; TANUVASThe present investigation reports the birth of a deformed female buffalo calf to a 3% years old primiparous buffalo in Pappanaickanpatti village on 13-4-1988.ArticleItem Open Access Clinical and Ultrasonographic examinations in cattle with empty rectum(2019-12) Saravanan, M; Ranjithkumar, M; Yogeshpriya, S; Ravi, R; Kannan, K; TANUVASUltrasonography helps in early diagnosis of large animal digestive disorders especially in cattle with empty rectum and also to initiate early therapeutic and surgical management. The study was undertaken to elicit GI disturbances in cattle at TVCC, VCRI, Orathanadu during 2015-16. Animals with history of absence of feces and or empty rectum were selected for this study. In total twenty nine cattle were found to be affected with various GI disorders. The incidence of GI disturbances was more (65.52 %) in cross bred Jersey cow. The common clinical signs were absence of feces (65.52 %), anorexia (58.62 %), scant/tarry/mucous coated foul smelling feces (34.48 %), arched back (24.14 %) and abdominal distention (24.14 %). All selected 29 animals were subjected to abdominal ultrasonography which revealed peritonitis (31.03 %), paralytic ileus with peritonitis and pericarditis in each 10.34 %, uroabdomen, intussusceptions, caecal dilatation, abomasal dilatation and peritonitis with intussusceptions in each 6.90 % and diaphragmatic hernia, reticular abscess, omasal impaction and peritonitis with pericarditis in each 3.45 %. Based on this study, clinical and ultrasonographic examinations were found to be a useful tool for the diagnosis of GI disorders of cattle with empty rectum.ThesisItem Open Access Clinico-Pathological Evaluation of Pancreatitis in Dogs(TANUVAS, 2009) Ravi, R; TANUVAS; Nambi, A.P.; Srinivasan, S.R.; Vairamuthu, SThesisItem Open Access Comparative Evaluation of Different Vegetable Oils in Broiler Ration(TANUVAS, 2011) Deepa, S; TANUVAS; Amutha, R; Edwin, S.C.; Ravi, RArticleItem Open Access COPPER, ZINC, MANGANESE AND IRON CONTENTS IN TKM-9 VARIETY PADDY STRAW(1987) Doraisamy, KA; Ravi, R; Murugan, M; Jagannathan, V; TANUVASThe level of minerals in paddy straw, as determined in this stud indicates a. state of adequacy in manganeseand Iron In case of Copper. there is a general deficiency thus making the supplementation essential, Similarly there is a general need for Zinc supplementation to meet the requirement of cattle in this region.ArticleItem Open Access EFFECT OF ENZYME SUPPLEMENTATION ON DIGESTIBILITY AND METABOLIZABILITY OF BROILERS TO NUTRIENT REDUCED DIET(2009-06) Bharathidhasan, A; Chandrasekaran, D; Natarajan, A; Ravi, R; Ezhilvalavan, S; TANUVASA feeding trial was conducted to study the effect of enzyme supplementation on nutrient digestibility and metabolizability of broilers (0-6wks). In the trial in broilers fed diets supplemented with enzyme at 0, 250, 500, 750 and 1000 g/ton of feed with a proportionate reduction .in metabolizable energy (ME-1.25, 2.5, 3.75 and 5%), crude protein (CP-0.75, 1.5, 2.25 and 3%),. Methionine+cytine (0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2%) and available phosphorus (2.2, 4.4, 6.6 and 8.8 %), the dry matter (OM) digestibility and protein metabolizability were increased significantly (P<0.05) in all enzyme supplemented groups. There was no si ~nificant increase in ether extract (EE) digestibility of treated groups. Highly significant (PThesisItem Open Access Effect of Feeding Antibiotic and Probiotic on Broiler Performance(TANUVAS, 1997) Kannan, D; TANUVAS; Viswanathan, K; Mohan, B; Ravi, RArticleItem Open Access Effect of feeding graded levels of aflatoxin (AFB1) on performance of broiler chicks(1998) Vasan, P; Ravi, R; Purushothaman, MR; TANUVASBroiler ‘chicks were fed with graded levels of 0, 0.25, 0.5 and 1 ppm aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) for four weeks. The AFB fed groups recorded significantly (P < 0.05) lower weight gain, feed consumption and feed efficiency in dose depended manner. Addition ofAFB1 at 0.5 ppm and above level induced a dose related drop in PCV, Hb concentration and serum total proteins, Serum cholesterol level was lowered and SGOT was high in all toxin fed groups. Whereas serum SGPI‘ concentration was not influenced by AF B1.ThesisItem Open Access Effects of Various Levels of Available Phosphorus in Relation with Calcium on Egg Production and Egg Shell Quality in Commercial White Leghorn Layers(TANUVAS, 1997) Sengathir, S; TANUVAS; Chandrasekaran, D; Ravi, R; Nanjappan, KThesisItem Open Access Evaluation Of Lannea Coromandelica Leaves As A Feed For Goats(Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, 2002) Chellapandian, M.; TANUVAS; Ravi, RArticleItem Open Access EVALUATION OF PADDY STRAW TREATED WITH BENZENE HEXA CHLORIDE (BHC)(1987) Murugan, M; Ravi, R; Doraisamy, KA; Jagannathan, V; TANUVASTreating paddy straw with 10, 20, 50 or 100 ug of BHC/g did not affect the digestibility of DM and cell wall in vitroThesisItem Open Access Feeding Eggshell Meal to Chicken Layers(TANUVAS, 2009) Ravi, S; TANUVAS; Viswanathan, K; Edwin, S.C.; Ravi, RThesisItem Open Access Feeding Value of Sesame Oil Cake for Broilers(TANUVAS, 2002) Yasothai, R; TANUVAS; Mohan, B; Ravi, R; Abraham, Robinson J.J.ArticleItem Open Access Incidence and Management of Parasitic Diseases amongst Pigeon (Columba livia) Population(TANUVAS, 2018) Vijayakumar, S; Dhandapani, K; Ravi, R; TANUVASThe parasitic diseases are the major economic impact in poultry industry. Pigeons act as a host for many parasites, to maintain life cycle pattern in environment. The present study reports occurrence of parasites in pigeons in Erode, Tamil Nadu. Forty five fecal samples and 15 blood samples were collected from 15 pigeon loft (~900 birds) and screened for endo and ecto parasites. Ascarida spp. and Capillaria spp. were helminthic eggs encountered with 60.0 and 33.3 percent prevalence respectively. Eimeria spp. (100%) of oocyst and gamonts of Hemoproteus columbae (26%) were the parasites seen, while Pseudolynchia spp. was the only ectoparasite seen. A long term study within pigeon population is essential to know the prevalence and distribution of parasitic infection, risk factors and vector potentiality in pigeon population.ThesisItem Open Access Lysine and Methionine Supplementation in Isocaloric Low Protein Diets on the Performance of White Leghorn Birds(TANUVAS, 1998) Bandeswaran, C; TANUVAS; Purushothaman, M.R.; Ravi, R; Mohan, BArticleItem Open Access MACRO AND MICRO MINERAL CONTENT IN CERTAIN TREE LEAVES OF TAMIL NADU(1987-06) Murugan, M; Ravi, R; Kathaperumal, V; TANUVASMacro and micro minerals were estimated in Ficus religiosa, Azardirachta indica, Enterolobium saman, Albizia lebbeck and Millingtonia hortensis tree leaves. Ca level (3.53'3,) in A. lebbeck was highest. Tree leaves in general contained higher Ca content than common fodders. The P content was comparable to common fodders. Cu content was highest in F. religiosa leaves. E. saman leaves were very low in Mg content. The toxic mineral (Mo) was below toxic level in all tree leaves. The studies suggested that the mineral content in tree leaves of coastal state of lndia were adequate for livestock nutrition except for Mg content of E. samanThesisItem Open Access Nutritional Evaluation Of Mango (Mangifera Indica) Seed Kernel In Broilers(Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, 2002) Vasantha Kumar, P; TANUVAS; Ravi, R
