The present paper describes a case of bilateral acquired ankyloblepharon in Aseel cock (Gallus gallus domesticus) and its surgical correction.ArticleItem Open Access A case report of cutaneous xanthoma in a cockatiel (Nymphicus hollandicus)(2018) Pazhanivel, N; Balachandran, C; Saahithya, R; Sudhakar Rao, Ganne Venkata; Shafiuzama, Mohamed; Krishnaveni, N; TANUVASA two year old cockatiel was presented to the Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital with a history of solitary swelling on the skin near the cloacal region past six months. Clinical examination revealed that the nodule was light yellow, firm, irregularly spherical, well demarcated, pedunculated and ulcerated. The excised biopsy mass was subjected for histopathology examination. Grossly, the mass was solitary, light yellow coloured, firm and pedunculated. Histopathological examination revealed diffuse infiltration of numerous large foamy macrophages, lymphocytes and multinucleated giant cells and numerous cholesterol clefts in the epidermo-dermis and dermis region. From the clinical examination, gross and histopathological examination, it was confirmed as cutaneous xanthoma.ArticleItem Open Access Gastric adenocarcinoma in a dog(Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery, 2017-12) Shafiuzama, Mohamed; Sabarish Babu, MS; Krishnaveni, N; Ganesh, TN; Hemalatha, S; TANUVASAn 11-yr-old non-descript dog was presented with the history of chronic vomition for the past one month after taking food and had been treated symptomatically for gastritis with no improvement. On clinical examination, the dog was found to be dull, depressed and dehydrated. Heart rate and respiratory rate were normal. Haematology and serum biochemical profiles revealed reduction in total red blood cell count and haemoglobin with neutrophilia and leucocytosis.ArticleItem Open Access Management of sub-lingual salivary mucocoele (Ranula) with marsupialisation technique in a dog: A case report(2021) Krishnaveni, N; Ninu, AR; TANUVASA 1.5 years old male German shepherd was presented with the history of a swelling at the base of the tongue for three days. Oral cavity examination revealed ranula/sub-lingual sialocoele on right side of tongue adjacent to the phrenum linguae. Marsupialisation was done under general anaesthesia. Animal had an uneventful recovery.ArticleItem Open Access A Report of Gastric Adenocarcinoma in a Dog Mohamed(Cloud Publications, 2015-10) Shafiuzama, Mohamed; Sabarish Babu, MS; Krishnaveni, N; Ganesh, TN; Hemalatha, S; TANUVASAn 11 year old male non-descript dog was presented with the history of frequent vomition and progressive weight loss for the past one month. The dog was dull, dehydrated, anaemic and emasciated. Positive contrast survey radiographs, revealed delayed gastrointestinal transit time and absence of foreign body. Exploratory laparatomy was done which revealed thickening of entire layer of the gastric wall with pylorus and the histopathology revealed gastric adenocarcinoma. Since the tumor was spread to the full thickness of the stomach wall including pylorus, the prognosis was informed to the owner and euthanasia was advised.ArticleItem Open Access Surgical management of an unusual case of omphalo-abomaso-epiploenterocele in a calf(2022) Ninu, AR; Vijayakumar, M; Krishnaveni, N; TANUVASUmbilical hernia is common in calves. Acquired ones are secondary to trauma or umbilical abscess.ArticleItem Open Access Therapeutic Management of Ocular Venereal Tumor in a Dog(2016-07) Ramani, C; Krishnaveni, N; Ganesan, Shriram; TANUVASA male dog was presented with mass on left eye for two weeks. The dog was diagnosed with a rare ocular venereal tumor. Treatment with Vincristine sulfate resulted in resolution of TVT lesions and recovery after five weeks of chemotherapeutics.
