ArticleItem Open Access Aflatoxin induced Hepatopathy in Broiler Chicken(Indian Journal of Veterinary Pathology, 2007) Arulmozhi, A.; Varghese, Koshy; Ismail, P.K.; Peethambaran, P.A.; TANUVASGross, histo-pathological and ultra structural changes in the liver of broiler chicken induced by feeding graded levels of aflatoxin at the rate of 0,20,40,60,80 and 100 ppb in the feed from day one to 45th day were studied. Intensity of the lesions like vascular changes. bileduct hyperplasia, portal fibrosis and mononuclear lnfilltratlons were directly related to the level of toxin in the feed and duration of exposure, with most severe changes at 80 and 100 ppb on the 45" day of experiment. Residual toxin in the liver win estimated and found to be below the standard set by FDA and FAO.ArticleItem Open Access Haemato-Biochemical Changes In Experimental Aflatoxicosis in Broiler Chicken(Indian Journal of Veterinary Pathology, 2000) Arulmozhi, A.; Varghese, Koshy; Ismail, P.K.; Peethambaran, P.A.; TANUVASA-(tilatoxin and their toxic metabolites are known to cause degenerative, immunosuppressive and carcinogenic effects. Aflatoxicosis in poultry produces liver damage. Hepatic injury is associated with significant serum biochemical and haematological changes. The present study records the effect of various levels of aflatoxin B1, on haematological and serological changes, in broilers fed on diet containing aflatoxin B1 for 6 weeks.
