ArticleItem Open Access Detection of Peste Des Petits Ruminants Virus Antibodies in Sera of Cattle(TANUVAS, Chennai, 2018-07) Giridharan, P.; Reddy, Y. Krishnamohan; TANUVASA total of 120 serum samples of cattle collected from six districts in Tamil Nadu were screened for PPRV antibodies. Competitive enzyme linked immune sorbent assay and micro serum neutralization test were used for seromonitoring of PPRV antibodies. In areas with no previous history of PPR incidence and PPRV vaccination in goats and sheep under field/ farmers holdings, the serum samples collected from selected cattle herds showed 8.3% positivity for PPRV antibodies by both cELISA and micro SNT, whereas in areas with previous history of PPR incidence and PPRV vaccination in goats and sheep, the cattle herds showed 18.3% positivity.ArticleItem Open Access DETECTION OF PESTE DES PETITS RUMINANTS VIRUS ANTIBODIES IN SERA OF CATTLE(TANUVAS, Chennai, 2018-07) Giridharan, P.; Reddy, Y. Krishnamohan; TANUVASField investigation of the incidence of PPR in 176 flocks of goats and sheep from 2015 to 2017 showed positivity for 131 Samples for PPRV antigen by CIE. The incidence of PPR was higher during November month followed by March.PPR incidence is low in the goats and sheep above 2 years of age. PPR incidence was more in the age group of 4 months to 1 year. Fifteen PPR positive samples were used for PPRV isolation in Vcro cells and the isolates were again confirmed by RT PCR using N gene primers. These RT-PCR products were sequenced. The partial N gene sequences of the PPRV isolates are similar and showed 99 - 100% homology with Tamil Nadu isolates.OtherItem Open Access Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) seroprevalence in large ruminants of Tamil Nadu(2018-12) Giridharan, P.; Reddy, Y. Krishnamohan; TANUVASPPR is an economically important contagious disease of goats and sheep. It is generally considered that cattle alone are naturally infected sub-clinically, although disease and death were recorded in calves experimentally infected with PPRV infected tissue.ArticleItem Open Access தமிழக கால்நடைகளில் ஆட்டுக்கொல்லி நோய் ஊநீர் கண்காணிப்பு கள ஆய்வு(Naam Tamizhar Pathippagam, Chennai, 2019) Giridharan, P.; Reddy, Y.
