ThesisItem Open Access Effect of organics and biofertilizers on productivity potential in carrot (Daucus carota L.)(UAS, Dharwad, 2007) Babli Mog; S.M.HiremathA field experiment was conducted at the main Agricultural Research Station, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad during rabi season of 2006-2007 to study the influence of organics and biofertilizers on productivity potential in carrot cultivar viz., Dharwad local in relation to morpho-physiological characters, yield and its components, biochemical and quality parameters. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with eleven treatments and three replication. The morphological parameter viz., plant height was significantly higher due to application of RDF + Azospirillum (500g/ha) compare to other treatments. Total dry weight differed significantly among treatments at all the stages. Among treatments significantly higher total dry weight was recorded with the application of RDF + Azospirillum (500 g/ha). All growth parameters were significantly higher with their application of RDF + Azospirillum (500 g/ha). Yield components viz., root length, root diameter and fresh weight of root were significantly higher with the application RDF + Azospirillum (500 g/ha). The various biochemical parameters (total chlorophyll and NRA) and quality parameters (carotene content) were recorded significantly higher with the application of RDF + Azospirillum (500 g/ha). Followed by RDF +Poultry manure (5t/ha) over other treatments. The benefit: cost ratio was higher with the application of RDF + Azospirillum (500 g/ha). Followed by RDF +Poultry manure (5t/ha) over other treatments.
