Necropsy examination revealed the presence of secondary septic peritonitis and multiple renal / splenic infarcts. Histologically, perforative/haemorrhagic enteritis, renal infarcts with diffuse glomerular / tubular necrosis of coagulative type and splenic infarction with occluded artery containing bacterial thromboemboli were confirmed.
