An experiment was conducted to find out the effect of osmoprotectants on tomato under NaCl salinity stress to study the changes in physiological and biochemical parameters due to saline stress. Five varieties of tomato crop procured from Main Vegetable Research Station, Anand Agricultural University, Anand were: QT-2, AT-3, ATL- 01/19, ATL-97/44, AND-1. These varieties were differing in their degree of salt tolerance. The seeds treated with four different osmoprotectants, proline, trehalose, sorbitol and putrescine were firstly grown in petri plates at four different concentrations of NaCl i.e. 50 mM, 100 mM, 150mM and 200 mM and used for various physiological analysis like germination percentage, seedling growth, moisture and based on the resultsenBiochemistryStudyEffect of osmoprotectants on tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum L.) under sodium chloride salinity stressThesis
