In recent years, the frequency of human enteritis caused by Campylobacter spp. has exceeded those caused by salmonella especially in developed countries. The association of zoonotic Campylobacters with chronic and life threatening complications such as guillain-barre syndrome, reactive arthritis, haemolytic uraemic syndrome, abortion, meningitis etc. has increased the public health concern worldwide.
