However, the widespread and indiscriminate uses of chemical fertilizers and pesticides have led to a number of problems causing serious health hazards and environmental pollution. The excessive use of chemicals fertilizers is now leading to decrease in crop yield, imbalance in soil nutrients and an adverse effect on soils physico-chemical properties. At this juncture bio fertilizers are useful supplement to chemical fertilizers.
