The results revealed that lower total number of weeds (7.67 m-2) and weed dry weight (11.75g m-2) was observed with metribuzin 11.25% + pendimethalin 29.75% ZC @ 2500 ml ha-1 which was at par with twice hand weeded plot (5.56 m-2 and 9.71g m-2 weeds and weeds dry weight respectively). Higher weed control efficiency (93.55%), taller plants (70.15 cm), plant spread (NS: 55.08 cm and E-W: 60.46 cm), maximum number of leaves (37.61), leaf area (22.28 cm2), number of haulms per plant (2.73), number of tubers per plant (6.78), weight of tubers per plant (593.9), higher TSS (5.6 °Brix), minimum number of days for 50 per cent flowering (29.33 days), tuber yield (34.21 t/ha), marketable yield (29.57 t/ha), maximum N, P and K uptake by potato plant (223.73, 16.91 and 271.79 kg/ha N, P and K respectively) and minimum uptake by weeds (8.27, 1.73 and 7.20 kg/ha N, P and K respectively) noticed with metribuzin 11.25% +pendimethalin 29.75% ZC at 2500 ml ha-1 which was on par with hand weeding @ 20 and 40 DAP. The higher B:C ratio (2.61) was noticed with metribuzin 11.25% + pendimethalin 29.75% ZC at 2500 ml ha-1 as compared to other treatments.EnglishINFLUENCE OF PRE-EMERGENCE HERBICIDE MIXTURES ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF POTATO (Solanum tuberosum L.)Thesis
