Assessment of morpho-phsiologial, biochemical parameters and yield of m4 indian mustard mutants. Department of botany, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola. M. Sc.2018. Print. xii, 107p. (unpublished).http://krishikosh.egranth.ac.in/handle/1/5810100661Field experiment was undertaken at farm of Botany, College of agriculture, Nagpur, during kharif 2017-2018 to evaluate the mutants on the basis of morpho-physiological parameters and yield of mustard mutants. Data revealed that mutant ACM18 significantly increased plant height, number of branches, leaf area, dry weight, RGR, NAR, chlorophyll content, NPK content in leaves and protein content in grains, yield contributing characters viz., number of seeds pod-1,weight of 100 seeds, seed yield plant-1, plot-1and ha-1and harvest index. The performance of twenty Indian mustard mutants (ACM1, ACM2, ACM3, ACM4, ACM5, ACM6, ACM7, ACM8, ACM9, ACM10, ACM11, ACM12, ACM13, ACM14, ACM15, ACM16, ACM17, ACM18, ACM19, ACM20) and checks Bio-902 and Pusa Bold on morpho-physiological chemical, biochemical, yield and yield contributing parameters of mustard was studied during rabi 2017-18. The field experiment was conducted in RBD with three replications at the farm of department of Agricultural Botany College of Agriculture, Nagpur. Sowing was done by dibbling method at spacing 45 cm x 10 cm on 12th November 2017.Plant height, number of branches plant-1 were recorded at harvesting stage and dry matter production and leaf area were recorded at 25, 45 and 65 DAS. RGR and NAR were calculated at 45-25 and 65-45 DAS. Chemical and biochemical parameters like chlorophyll, N, P, K content in leaves were estimated at 25, 45, and 65 DAS. Seed oil and protein content were also estimated. Observations on yield and yield contributing parameters like number of siliqua plant-1, number of seed siiqua-1, number of seed 20-1siliqua, test weight, seed yield plant-1, plot-1, ha-1were all recorded. All these above mentioned parameters were analysed statistically. The twenty mutants of mustard showed significant variation among them for all the characters studied. The correlation studies indicated positive and highly significant correlation of all characters with yield. The weightage should be given to all morpho-physiological, chemical, biochemical and yield and yield contributing parameters to increase seed yield of mustard mutants. Considering these characters the mutants ACM18, ACM12, ACM6, ACM4 and ACM8 can be considered for further study and cultivation also. These five mutants were also found significantly superior over both checks Bio-902 and Pusa Bold. Hence, these mutants were also recommended for breeding programme and testing also.enDry matter, Vegetative stage and Plant growth substance.ASSESSEMENT OF MORPHO-PHSIOLOGIAL, BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS AND YIELD OF M4 INDIAN MUSTARD MUTANTS.Thesis
