In first trial, ten pre-sowing treatments were tried to study their effect on seed germination parameters. In second trial, two levels of organic manures (FYM and vermicompost), three levels of bio-fertilizers (No bio-fertilizer, Azospirillum and PSB) and three levels of inorganic fertilizers (No NPK, 1:1:1 g NPK and 2:1:1g NPK) were evaluated to know their effect on seedling growth of Sterculia urens. Out of ten pre-sowing seed treatments, the maximum germination percentage (65.3%) was recorded in mechanical scarification with Gibberlic acid (GA3) 250 ppm treatment. The other germination parameters viz., mean daily germination, peak value, germination value and germination rate were also maximum in this treatment. Among the organic manures, application of vermicompost has recorded maximum seedling growth parameters. Among bio-fertilizers, application of PSB has recorded maximum seedling and root growth parameters. Among inorganic fertilizers, application of 2:1:1 g NPK has recorded significantly highest seedling and root growth parameters. Among the interactions of organic manures and bio-fertilizes, combination of vermicompost with PSB has recorded maximum seedling height and collar diameter. The number of leaves, leaf area, fresh shoot weight, fresh root weight, total fresh weight and total root dry weight were maximum in the combination of vermicompost and without biofertilizers. Among the interactions of organic manures and inorganic fertilizers, all the seedling growth parameters were found maximum in the combination of vermicompost with 2:1:1 g NPK. Among the interactions of bio-fertilizers and inorganic fertilizers, all parameters were found maximum in combination of PSB with 2:1:1 g NPK. Among the interactions of organic manures, bio-fertilizers and inorganic fertilizers, combination of vermicompost with PSB and 2:1:1 g NPK has recorded maximum seedling growth parameters.ennullStandardization of Nursery Techniques In Sterculia urens Roxb.Thesis
