In engineering field the mechanical components are subjected to various types of loading condition that result in fatigue failure of the component. The fatigue life of the component depends on various factors, some of them are known to us such as temperature, range of stress, metallurgical factors, etc. and many others are still unknown. In the present investigation S-N test and cumulative damage tests are conducted at different stress and temperature levels on four point bend notched specimen using rotating bending fatigue testing machine. Based on the experimental stress-life-temperature data well known Basquin model and other three models were fitted to incorporate the temperature effect in the stress-life behaviour. It is seen that model 3 which follows the power law to incorporate the effect of temperature fits well with the stress-life-temperature data. The results of cumulative damage test shows that the summation of cycle ratio is not unity but varies from 0.80 to 1.05 with a mean value of 0.930 and coefficient of variance was found to be 8.279% and it follows Normal distribution.ennullInvestigation of fatigue life of INCONEL 825 at different temperatures under constant and variable amplitude loadingThesis
