S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan (H.P.) from March, 2010 to January, 2011 with the objective to study the effect of growth retardants (daminozide & paclobutrazol) on growth and flowering of Eustoma grandiflorum (lisianthus). The experiment was laid out in a completely randomized design consisting of 9 treatments, replicated five times and each having 5 pots. Seedlings were planted in pots of 6 inch size containing a sterilized potting mixture of soil: sand: vermicompost in equal ratio. The seedlings were pinched at 6 to 8 cm height and sprayed with daminozide @ 1000, 2500, 5000 & 7500 ppm and PP333 @ 10, 15, 20 & 25 ppm after 14 days of pinching. Earlier flowering, more number of flowers open at a time, larger flowers with longer duration, maximum number of shoots per plant with better plant spread and presentability was obtained when the plants were sprayed with 7500 ppm daminozide and this treatment was at par with 25ppm paclobutrazol for enhancing the more economical traits in the production of pot lisianthus.ensowing, intercropping, wheats, tillage equipment, seed drilling, crops, mustard, fertilizers, land resources, chickpeasThesis
