Ella RaniOhlan, Manisha2019-04-302019-04-302018http://krishikosh.egranth.ac.in/handle/1/5810101370The present study was conducted in Hisar district of Haryana state. 200 respondents from two localities viz., Sector 14 and Sector 15 for urban area and in rural area two villages viz., Ludas and Shahpur including 100 males and 100 females were selected. A set of 13 independent variables, 3 communication variables and 3 dependent variables were selected for the study. Socio-economic personal profile of respondents revealed that majority of respondents were below 35 years of age group, educated up to graduation and unmarried, had nuclear type of family having up to 5 members in a family and belonged to general caste having no membership. They had their own Independent profession with the monthly income above Rs.10, 000, had pucca house and were landless. Majority of respondents possessed Cable TV and they utilized information from family members and had exposure of PayTm for using cashless system. Almost all the respondents had heard about demonetization and knew that bank account number is required for any cashless transaction. Many of them felt excellent about this step taken by PM Sh. Narendra Modi who also supported cash less economy and believed that digital methods are risk-free and cash less system is helpful in college, curbed black money and corruption in the country. It affected agriculture and has brought access to higher education to common man‘s reach, possessed ATM card and also found it most convenience method of cashless payment as perceived by most of the respondents. Majority of urban respondents utilized and rural respondents did not utilize bankcards before demonetization. Almost all the respondents preferred to use cash in purchasing of items less than Rs. 5,000 such as automobile. Majority of respondents reported that no change was observed on purchasing behavior and rarely utilized mobile banking as it is secure and risk-free, internet banking keeps account safe and bankcards pays less cost due to cash back. Most of the respondents were not using mobile phone as they don‘t see the point in them; didn‘t have access to internet banking and high interest rate and increased debt on bankcards. Most of respondents highly faced the problem of lack of internet connectivity. Significant difference was found between rural and urban in respect of awareness, opinion and utilization regarding demonetization and cash less system.
