P.LAXMI PRASANNA, P.2018-09-102018-09-102018-09-10Th-5113http://krishikosh.egranth.ac.in/handle/1/5810072506The study namely GENDER COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF AGRICULTURE AND ALLIED ACTIVITES IN KADAPA DISTRICT OF ANDHRA PRADESH was undertaken with the objectives of studying the different agriculture and allied activities performed by the farmer and farm women, their extend of involvement, to study the decision making behaviour of farmer and farm women, average time utilization pattern of farmer and farm women and to study the relation between socio personnel characters and decision making behaviour of farmer and farm women .The number of respondents were 120.The data were collected through a pretested structure interview schedule with appropriate statistical measures for analysis and interpretation. The major findings were 50% of farmer,66.6% farm women were middle aged,68.3% farm women ,41.65 farmer were illitarates,48.3% of farmer 36.6%farm women belongs to medium income level,43.3% of farm women belongs to landless labour,63.3% of the farmwomen were agriculture labour compared to the 41.6%of farmer. Men dominantly performed 69.1% of the land preparation activities, 87% of the marketing activities. Farm women dominantly performed 80.8% of cleaning cattleshed,84.1% of the cleaning animals, and 93.3% of fetching water for animal. Men dominantly performed 71.6% of purchase the household material, 76.6% of the rope making activities. Farm women dominantly performed 79.1% of the Collecting fuel wood, 75.8% of collecting water, 84.1% of cleaning the house ,80.3% of cooking food,72.5% of children caring, and 68.3% of take caring of elder family members. Male farmers were fully involved in 32.5% of land preparation activities male farmer were fully involved in 74.1% of purchase of animal activities, Farm women were fully involved in 55.8% of the cleaning the cattle shed,65.8% fetching the water for animal,55% of the cattle feed preparation.77.5% marketing decisions taken by farmer65% of the transplanting operations decisions taken by farm women. Male farmers were good in decision making in the area of the marketing. Farm women were good in decision making of management activities. Farm women have more number of average working hours in collection of fuel of the taking care of the sick birds. Majority of male farmers have the more number of average working hours in different agriculture activities that was (6.5hr/day) compared to the farm women which was (5.6hr/day). Male farmers have number of average working hours (0.58hr/day) in different social activities. Farm women had less average time in attending training and demonstrations (0.25hr/day) and attending different extension activities (0.33hr/day) Farm women had positive and significant correlation of age, level of education and income per month with decision making behaviour. Farmer had positive and significant correlation of age, level of education, income per month, farm category and outward orientation with decision making behaviour in agriculture and allied sector.ennullThesis
