In order to avoid using several antennas to satisfy the needs of the users, a U-shaped hexagonal slot microstrip antenna (MSA) with a wide band is now required. Due to its low price, simplicity of installation, performance, and low profile structure, which make it a high-quality competitor for many communication devices, the MSA represents a revolution in the field of wireless applications. Development of a U-shaped hexagonal broadband microstrip antenna with DGS for wireless applications in the frequency range of 3-14 GHz is the major goal of the proposed study. With a centre frequency of 5GHz, the suggested antenna is simulated and optimised using HFSSv.18 and developed using the TLM model. The suggested antenna is employed in wireless applications such as WiMAX (3.6 GHz), Hi-LAN (5.15-5.35 GHz), WLAN IEEE802a (5.2 GHz), and DSRC for a car-to-car connection (5.850-5.925 GHz) that operate at the frequency range of 3.37-13.25 GHz. Future 5G communications as well as other applications like CCTV, cameras, and Cmax may employ a 6-6.5 GHz spectrum. . The proposed antenna is created on a FR4 substrate with a loss tangent of 0.02 and a thickness of 1.6 mm. The manufactured antenna is small in nature, measuring 26x27x1.6 mm2. The proposed antenna's (fabricated) reflection coefficient and VSWR values are measured and compared with the simulated ones, with satisfactory agreement found. The proposed antenna is contrasted with the antennas that were previously designed. In the frequency range from 3.37 to 13.25 GHz, the measured broad bandwidth with a reflection coefficient less than -10 dB is found to be 9880MHz. The suggested antenna exhibits radiation efficiency and a simulated peak gain of 6.35 dBi in the frequency range of 3.37 GHz to 13.25 GHz.
