The strains of L.acidophilus LBKV3 and LBKI4 were isolated from the vaginal mucosa of human female and faeces of bottle-fed infant respectively and were identified by morphological, physiological and bio-chemical tests . From a among a total of 280 isolates obtained from the above stated sources the two strains of L.acidophilus LBKV3, and LBKI4 were selected for further characterization on the basis of sensory properties of curd and resistance to phenol, bile salt and low pH.enDAIRY MICROBIOLOGYCHARACTERIZATIONCHARACTERIZATION OF HUMAN STRAINS OF LACTOBACILLUS ACIDOPHILUS ISOLATES FOR THEIR SUITABILITY IN PREPARATION OF MILK BEVERAGE AND THEIR ANTIBACTERIAL CUM THERAPEUTIC ABILITYThesis
