This study conducted an extensive survey across eight districts in Maharashtra to assess the incidence of BBTV, revealing varying degrees of infection with Palghar district exhibiting the highest incidence at 2.5%. When screening four distinct banana types for resistance to BBTV, transmitted by Pentalonia nigronervosa, notable susceptibility was observed in the Grand Naine cultivars, Conversely, the Rasabale variety exhibited a commendable and moderate resistance response to BBTV. Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), revealed uniform, isometric, and smooth-surfaced spherical particles of BBTV measuring 18-20 nm in diameter.EnglishDETECTION OF BBTV THROUGH PCR AND ELISA TECHNIQUE WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO RED BANANA (AAA)Thesis
