Twenty representative surface soil and plant samples from each district were collected from different rice ecosystem of the region. Thus, a total of 120 surface soil and 120 plant samples were collected from different villages of six districts. Available silicon in soils determined by NaOAc buffer method and plant samples was analysed for Si, N, P, K, S, Na and micronutrients (Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu) contents. The coefficient of correlation (r) was worked out to know the relationship between available Si and soil properties and silicon content and uptake by paddy.enSoil SciencesurveySTATUS OF AVAILABLE SILICON AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH SOIL PROPERTIES IN PADDY SOILS OF MIDDLE GUJARATThesis
