Thirty five advanced mutants of french bean along with one standard check, Arka Anoop, released by IIHR were evaluated in Randomized Complete Block Design with two replications. The experiment was conducted at Regional Horticulture Research and Extension Centre, Bengaluru. Analysis of variance revealed that highly significant difference among genotypes for all 20 characters studied. Moderate genotypic and phenotypic coefficient of variations were observed number of branches, plant spread (N-S) and (E-W), number of pods per cluster, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, pod yield per plant(g) pod yield per plot (kg), pod yield per hectare (t/ha), average pod weight, protein content (%), pod length (cm), pod width (cm), number of flowers per plant and pod set percentage. High heritability along with high genetic advance was recorded for the number of branches, plant spread (N-S) and (E-W), number of pods per cluster, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, pod yield per plant (g), pod yield per plot (kg), average pod weight, protein content (%) and pod width (cm).Correlation analysis revealed that pod yield per plant (g) was positively and significantly (p= 0.01) associated with all characters except days to 50 per cent flowering.EnglishGENETIC VARIABILITY AND PERFORMANCE OF ADVANCED MUTANTS OF FRENCH BEAN (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)
