Mastitis is classified as subclinical and clinical mastitis. Clinical mastitis is a condition, which is characterized by local symptoms like swelling of the udder, heat and pain or systemic symptoms like fever, anorexia, depression with milk abnormalities like milk clots, flakes, watery secretions, blood in milk. About 150 species of microorganisms have been incriminated as the causal agents of mastitis. Some times in clinical mastitis after treatment there are reoccurrence of clinical mastitis.
