The postpartum period is a vulnerable period for diseases in the reproductive life of the female (Swanson, 1989). In farm animals, the postpartum period terminates with the exhibition of first postpartum estrus at which the pregnancy can be established. By this time the hypothalamo hypophysial-gonadal axis is expected to assume normal function so as to permit estrus, ovulation, conception, corpus luteum (CL) maintenance and pregnancy.PHYSIOLOGICAL INDICATORS OF POSTPARTUM FERTILITY IN CATTLEThesis
