To study the effect of growth performance of native chicken under intensive and semi-intensive systems of rearing was taken up in the Department of Livestock Farm Complex, Veterinary College, Hassan and Yediyuru village, Hassan. respectively. Different management systems had significant (P0.05) between the two systems of rearing. The BCR was higher in semi intensive system 1.69 compared to intensive system of rearing 1.56. The average SFRB was 11.42 g/b/d observed during 9th to 20th weeks of age. The study was concluded that native chicken can be reared under intensive and semi-intensive system of management successfully.
