Phyllanthus emblica L.) is an important arid fruit crop. The fruit rot caused by Alternaria alternata (Fr.) Keissler, adversly affects the fruit quality, quantity and ultimately reduce the market value. As the Alternaria fruit rot of aonla causes enormous yield losses and oftenly observe in orchards and markets, the detail investigation on various aspects was carried out in Department of Plant Pathology, B. A. College of Agriculture, Anand Agricultural University, Anand. Freshly infected aonla fruits (Gujarat Aonla-1) showing typical Alternaria rot symptoms were collected from Horticulture Orchard, A.A.U., Anand.
