In bidi tobacco it is a pest on capsules and hinders the production of tobacco seeds. It is one of the limiting factors in the production of improved varieties of tobacco seeds. The population of Heliothis moth was studied during the year 1982 using pheromone and light trap of ICRISAT model. The daily observations on the moth catches were recorded everyday throughout the year. The data on the population of H. armigera were correlated with the weather parameters and moon phases. The Heliothis armigera was active through out the year except in September. The maximum catches were obtained during February-March.
