No. Ph.D./014/08)The present investigation on “Inheritance of drought tolerance in rabi Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench)” was carried out at PGI, Farm, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, during the period rabi 2016-17. The experimental material for generation mean analysis was developed by crossing two contrasting genotypes for two crosses i.e. CSV-29R x CRS-19 and SPV-2225 x IS-6430 and comprised P1, P2, F1, F2, B1 and B2 generations. These different generations were grown in a randomized block design, with three replications under non stress (Normal) and moisture stress (Rainout shelter) condition during rabi 2016-17. For combining ability analysis, the 48 crosses (F1’s) were effected in L x T fashion by using 4 male sterile lines and 12 restorer lines and resulting 48 hybrids along with 16 parents were grown in a separate randomized block design, with two replications during rabi 2016-17. The observations were recorded on 13 characters for generation mean analysis experiment, comprising of grain yield and its components, physiological, biochemical and for combining ability analysis, eight characters comprising of grain yield and its components with an objectives to study the nature of gene action, combining ability effects of various genotypes, the effect of heterosis and physiological traits related to drought tolerance under rabi seasons in rabi sorghum under non stress and moisture stress condition.EnglishINHERITANCE OF DROUGHT TOLERANCE IN RABI SORGHUM [Sorghum bicolor (L.)
