The experimental material consisted of 67 genotypes, comprised of five lines, ten testers, their 50 hybrids and two standard check varieties. The experimental material was evaluated in Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. The observations were recorded on twelve different characters viz. days to 50 % heading, days to maturity, plant height, number of effective tillers per plant, length of main spike, number of spikelets per main spike, 100-grain weight, grain yield per plant, biological yield per plant, harvest index, protein content and hectolitre weight. The recorded data were subjected to analysis to assess per se performance, heterotic effects (heterobeltiosis and standard heterosis), combining ability of parents and their hybrids and gene effects.EnglishHETEROSIS AND COMBINING ABILITY IN WHEAT (Triticum aestivum L.)Thesis
