Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur during the year 2022. These were Nine treatments viz. sesame sole, greengram sole and blackgram sole at 30 cm apart. Sesame + greengram and sesame + blackgram in 2:1,3:1 and 4:1 row ratio. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with three replication. A perusal of data clearly reveal that among the intercrop combinations sesame + greengram 2:1 gave the significantly highest net return (Rs. 50704/ha) and benefit: cost ratio (1:2.55) followed by sesame + blackgram (2:1). The lowest value of net return (Rs. 33382/ha) was recorded in sole sesame crop, however values of LER was found at par in sesame + greengram (2:1). The lowest LER was recorded in sole cropping. The lowest splash loss(2.72 t/ha) was recorded under sole greengram and highest (7.61t/ha) was recorded under sole sesame. The highest water use efficiency (2.38 kg seed/ha/mm) was recorded under sesame + greengram (2:1) and lowest water use efficiency (1.8 kg seed/ha/mm) was recorded under sole sesame.Productivity And Water Use Efficiency Of Sesame (Sesamum Indicum L.)
