The findings of the study revealed that closed level of spacing (30 cm x 30 cm) increased yield of flower (6.67 t/ha) whereas wider spacing (45 cm x 30 cm) recorded minimum yield (4.94 t/ha). However, among the nutrients the treatment F3 (220:75:75 NPK kg/ha) recorded the maximum flower yield (6.54 t/ha) while minimum flower yield (4.68 t/ha) was recorded in treatment F0 (control) . Among the interaction S1F3 (30 x 30 cm: 220:75:75 NPK kg/ ha) recorded higher flower yield (7.56 t/ha) while minimum flower yield (4.02 t/ha) was recorded in treatment S2F0 (45 cm x 30 cm: Control). Among the growth regulators studied, maximum flower yield was obtained from cycocel @ 1000 ppm treatment (7.40 t/ha) while minimum flower yield was recorded in control (6.49 t/ha). The study on evaluation of genotypes revealed that, the genotype AGS-5 recorded maximum number of flowers (252.34), flower yield (16.95 t/ha) and seed yield (75.70 g) although AGS-4 showed superiority in morphological parameters viz., plant height and stem girth, whereas number of branches were maximum (11.10) in AGS-3.The genotypes AGS-7 and AGS-10 which were on par with each other took less number of days to first flowering and fifty per cent flowering. Whereas, the genotype AGS-15 had longest flowering duration although it was on par with other genotypes but quality parameters like flower diameter (15.60 mm), weight of hundred fresh flowers (57.13 g ) and dry flowers (35.66 g) were maximum with AGS-2. Results of the post harvest techniques showed that, the flower harvested at full bloom stage with silica gel as embedding material took least number of days to dry flowers with superior quality. Pretreatment of flowers with 1:3 glycerol to water for three hours significantly resulted in maximum moisture loss with good quality. Drying of the fully opened flowers at 400C by embedding in silica gel for 6.80 hrs had good quality. Drying with microwave oven for 3 minutes showed better performance. However, shade drying by embedding in silica gel resulted in best quality dried flowers.ennullEVALUATION OF GENOTYPES AND STANDARDIZATION OF PRODUCTION AND DRYING TECHNIQUES IN BACHELOR’S BUTTON (Gomphrena globosa L.)Thesis
