Half sib mating involving five female and mixed pollen of fifteen male parents were used. The line IIHR3 showed higher seed weight, number of seeds per cross and seed set per cent. The line IIHR1-1 recorded earliest germination and rooting, IIHR5-4 recorded earliest leaf development and shoot length after 60 days of inoculation. Lines were evaluated for flower quality and novel traits under naturally ventilated polyhouse under pot condition. The line IIHR1-3 recorded highest number of leaves per plant at 30, 60, 90 and 120 days after planting. IIHR3-1 recorded maximum plant spread (East-West and North-South) at 60, 90 and 120 days after planting. The line IIHR2-4, IIHR4-2 and IIHR5-4 recorded earliest bud burst and line IIHR5-4 recorded earliest first flower opening. The lines IIHR1-1, IIHR2-2, IIHR3-2, IIHR3-5, IIHR4-3 and IIHR5-1 recorded double form of flower head with novel flower color. Maximum score was recorded by line IIHR1-1. Five treatments were tried for callus regeneration. The treatment MS medium supplemented with BA 1 mgl-1 and 2,4-D 1 mgl-1 recorded earliest callus initiation, plantlets from callus and number of plantlets per clump. Among fourteen lines, IIHR1-1 regenerated earliest from callus and showed positive response for least number of days to form callus and highest number of plantlets per callus.EnglishDEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF GERBERA (Gerbera jamesonii Bolus ex.
