In a bid to conserve the remaining germplasm, blend of plant tissue culture and biotechnology provides a feasible, effective means of propagating members of this genus. The detailed understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying the success or failure of traditional propagation can be explored by application of expression study. Considering the importance of in vitro organogenesis, the present study was carried out at Department of Agricultural Biotechnology, AAU, Anand to standardize the protocol of sandalwood for direct organogenesis and indirect organogenesis coupled with qRT-PCR technique for identification of the genes expressed during direct organogenesis and indirect organogenesis events, validation and absolute gene expression profiling of these genes in organogenesis events.en-USnullIDENTIFICATION OF GENES ASSOCIATED WITH DIRECT AND INDIRECT ORGANOGENESIS EVENTS DURING MICROPROPAGATION OF SANDALWOOD (Santalum album L.)
