Different terminologies used to describe this syndrome are ‘downers', ‘alert downers', ‘atypical milk fever’ or ‘creeper cows’ and 'fat cow syndrome' Downer cow diseases are complications resulting from milk fever with demonstrable muscle, tendon or nerve injuries.
