It was hypothesized that there will be a significant relationship between parenting style and social anxiety ; and there will be gender differences in the parenting styles and also in the level of social anxiety among teenagers. Sample consisted of 60 students ( 30 boys , 30 girls) with an age ranged 18-20 years, taken from Jesus and Mary College and Holy Family through stratified random sampling. Two assessment tools were employed to collect data ; Social Anxiety Inventory Scale for teenagers and Parental Attitude Inventory. Correlation T-test and two way ANOVA were used. Results revealed that there was significant relationship between parenting styles and social anxiety ; the authoritarian and uninvolved parenting styles for mother and father were the significant predictors for social anxiety ; and girls have higher level of social anxiety than boys.
