C.PATEL, DIWAKER R.2018-07-132018-07-131979http://krishikosh.egranth.ac.in/handle/1/5810059804Field experiments were conducted to study radio sensitivity of isabgul to gamma-rays, the effect of length, type, mode and duration of enclosures on seed set, the desirability of powerloom cloth bag for selfing whole plant and pollen dispersal in isabgul crop. (1) In M2 generation, positive significant shifts in means were observed for characters length of spike and number of tillers per plant. Mutagenic treatments of gamma rays increased variability in M2 generation in the progenies for most of the characters. Early maturing types were obtained from irradiated populations. The highest values of genetic variance accompanied by corresponding genetic parameters were observed at both, higher and lower doses of gamma rays for dofferent characters. Forty and eighty Kr doses of gamma rays were most effective in inducing variability for maturity and synchronous flowering. However, 40 Kr dose of gamma rays was suggested for improvement in other characters.enPLANT BREEDING AND GENETICS, AGRICULTUREA STUDYGAMMA-RAY INDUCED GENETIC VARIABILITY, POLLEN DISPERSAL AND SEED SET IN ISABGUL (PLANTAGO OVATA FORSK)Thesis
