The chevon and mutton samples as well as retail meat shops environment samples viz. butchers’ hands, knives and log swabs were collected under aseptic precautions and were inoculated into pre-enrichment medium-Buffered Peptone water, followed by enrichment in Rappaport-Vassiliadis soybean meal (RVSM) broth and tetrathionate broth (TTB) and then plating on selective plating media like Xylose lysine deoxycholate (XLD) and Brilliant green (BGA) agars in the PG laboratory of the department.
