Gross examination of the carcass revealed feathers sticking to the body surface. Crop contained partially digested feed material with grits. Endocardium of the heart revealed numerous petechial haemorrhages. Lungs revealed dark red areas over the caudal portion of the right lung which was hard to palpate. Liver was enlarged with few alternating petechial haemorrhages.
