Although losses due to parasitic infections have not been quantified, they cause great economic loss to the industry by way of morbidity and mortality. However, parasitic infections rarely cause mortality in birds unless the infection is severe, but they cause decreased growth rate, production and feed efficiency. Besides, the affected birds are more susceptible to dreadful diseases owing to impaired immunity resulting from parasitic infections.
