India is the 4thlargest manufacturer of agrochemicals after USA, Japan and China. The agrochemicals market in India is Rs.4500 Crores.Currently, there are 226 pesticide products registered in India. (2011). Pesticides are mainly classified into three categories — Insecticide, Herbicide and Fungicide on basis of the types of pests their control. India is a major exporter of pesticides. Exports in value terms have almost doubled from `27.9 bn in 2006 to `53.2 bn in 2011. Exports have grown at CAGR of 13.48% over the past five years.
