Abstract
Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench), known as “Lady’s finger” in
English and “Bhindi” in Hindi belongs to family Malvaceae is one of the most
important vegetable crops grown extensively throughout the country during summer
and rainy season. The present investigation on “Effect of apical pinching and
growth retardants on seed yield and its quality parameter of okra (Abelmoschus
esculentus (L.) Moench.) cv. GO-6” was carried out in two parts (Part-A field
experiments and Part-B laboratory experiments) with the objectives to study the effect
of apical pinching on seed yield and its quality, to study the effect of growth retardant
seed yield and its quality and to study the interaction effect of apical pinching and
growth retardant on seed yield and seed quality.
