Abstract
A study was conducted with the objective of eliciting the opinion of farmers regarding
the functioning of Krishi Vigyan Kendras in Tamil Nadu and Kerala to strengthen
its functioning. Data were collected from randomly selected 360 respondents from
60 villages under the work area of six university Krishi Wgyan Kendras and six
NGO Krishi Wgyan Kendras of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The results indicated that
majority of the farmers had favourable opinion towards the functioning of Krishi
Vigyan Kendras. It also revealed that the opinion of the farmers was positively and
significantly associated with their annual income, trainings attended, organisational
participation, innovativeness and information seeking behaviour and it could be concluded that these variables were much important in predicting the opinion of
farmers towards the functioning of Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
