Abstract
In the world India is the leading country for production, consumption and export of spices. Ginger is one of the most important spices crop grown in India which contribute in high foreign exchange. The productivity of ginger crop is high as compare to other crops. But there is uncertainty in production because of it is susceptible to so many risks, viz., disease and pest infestation, climatic conditions, storage problems, weed problems, post- harvest losses and high fluctuation in market prices etc. The factor like climatic condition is uncontrollable, but there are some other deleterious factors such as selection of improper planting materials, poor irrigation management, improper plant protection measures, improper soil health management practices, poor post harvesting management practices etc. are manageable, only when proper measures are adopted.
