HELMINTH PARASITIC SURVEY OF CAPTIVE SPOTTED DEER (Axis axis) IN TAMIL NADU

Abstract
The Spotted Deer (also known as Chital) is the most common deer species found in Indian forests distributed from the base of Himalayas, practically throughout the Peninsular India and Ceylon. Chital is listed as “Least Concern” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species (2015) because it occurs over a very wide range within which there are many large populations (Duckworth et al., 2015).
