Abstract
Red-eared slider turtles are named for the characteristic red postorbital stripes on either side of their heads and innate ability to slide off rocks and logs and into the water. In captivity these exotic pets swim lopsided. A red eared slider turtle was brought to the Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital and it was referred to the Department of Wildlife Science for the treatment with a complaint of anorexia, floating in the water, basks with the head down and eyes closed, breathing was noticed through mouth and little frothiness was noticed around the mouth and reduced activity levels were noticed.
