A field experiment entitled with “STUDIES ON NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT THROUGH FERTIGATION AND FOLIAR APPLICATION IN TOMATO (Solanum lycopersicum L.)” was conducted to know the effect of fertigation and foliar spray on growth, yield and quality of tomato. The experiment was planned with twelve treatment combinations replicated thrice and allotted in split plot design. The treatments comprised of four fertigation levels in main-plot and three foliar sprays in sub-plot. In main-plot, four fertigation levels viz., F1: Surface irrigation with 100 per cent recommended N: P: K through soil application, F2: 75 per cent recommended N: P: K through drip irrigation, F3: 100 per cent recommended N: P: K through drip irrigation, F4: 125 per cent recommended N: P: K through drip irrigation were accommodated. The sub-plot treatments consisted of three foliar sprays viz., S1: Water spray (control), S2: 0.5 per cent vegetable special (IIHR), and S3: 0.3 per cent humic acid spray. The experiment was laid out at Main Agriculture Research Station, College of Agriculture, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur, Karnataka, India, during 2015-16. The significant differences were observed among the various treatments. Combination of 100 per cent recommended dosage of NPK through drip irrigation in combination with foliar application of 0.3 per cent of humic acid resulted in higher yield and superior quality fruits.en_US
