Abstract
An experiment was conducted on “Effect of phosphorus and lime on Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L.) under wood apple (Aeglemarmelos L.) based agri-horti system” at agroforestry farm of Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, BHU,Barkachha, Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The experiment was conducted in Factorial Randomised Block Design with ten treatments (30 kg P2O5 + 150 kg lime ha-1, 30 kg P2O5 + 300 kg lime ha-1 , 30 kg P2O5 + 450 kg lime ha-1 , 50 kg P2O5 + 150 kg lime ha-1 , 50 kg P2O5 + 300 kg lime ha-1 , 50 kg P2O5 + 450 kg lime ha-1, 70 kg P2O5 + 150 kg lime ha-1 , 70 kg P2O5 + 300 kg lime ha-1, 70 kg P2O5 + 450 kg lime ha-1, control (no P2O5 + no lime). The objective of the present study was to generate information on the assessment of growth and yield of Indian mustard effected by phosphorus and lime levels. Progressive increase in phosphorus and lime levels up to 70 kg P2O5ha-1and 450 kg lime ha-1, respectively have significantly increased the growth and yield parameters of the cropviz. plant height, number of secondary branches, dry matter accumulation, siliqua length, number of siliquae, seeds per siliqua, seed yield and stover yield.
