Entropion in New Born Lambs

Abstract
Entropion is a condition where the eyelid(s) are turned inwards causing irritation and abrasions to the surface of the eye. In the new born lamb this condition initiates severe keratitis and conjunctivitis, which if neglected can lead to corneal opacity, corneal ulceration, iris prolapse, suppurative panopthalmitis and sometimes even loss of eye. In case of bilateral affections this can cause complete blindness and death due to starvation. The present paper describes the diagnosis, treatment and correction of entropion in lambs.
